If you consider yourself to be an avid book reader, or even an actual bookworm, you need a book nook. It's not enough to have a comfy chair for reading, especially if you spend most of your spare time curled up with a good book. The best way to get the most pleasure out of your book-reading experience is to have a special place in your home that's designated specifically for curling up with those books. Here are some simple steps that will help you create the perfect book nook, for you and the other bookworms in your life.
Choose the Right Space
When you set out to create the perfect book nook, you've got to start with the perfect space. Try to choose a space that's out of the way, so you can enjoy some uninterrupted reading time. It's also important that you choose a place that has plenty of natural light. That way, you don't always need to have artificial light pouring over the pages of your book. Speaking of artificial light. When you choose your space, make sure it does have at least one power outlet. That way, you can plug in a reading light for those times when the natural light just isn't cutting it, or for when you decide to read late into the night.
Make the Most of Your Seating Arrangements
When you're reading a book, you want to curl up in a comfortable chair. However, don't settle for one upholstered chair. You also need to include at least one comfy loveseat. While the upholstered chair will be nice, the loveseat will give you plenty of room to prop your feet up and wrap yourself up in a cozy blanket. Not only that, but if you have kids, the loveseat will give you the extra space you'll need to gather them with you for story time.
Don't Forget the Bookcases
When you're designing your book nook, don't forget about the bookshelves. It's not enough to have one or two bookshelves on hand. You need to have enough for your book collection to grow. It's also a good idea to keep a small shelf right next to your loveseat, so you can gather the books that are at the top of your reading list. As you finish one of the books on your list, place it back on the main bookshelves with the others, and choose a new one to take its place next to your loveseat.
